🚗 Section 56 – Change in Class or Category of Vehicle in RC

(RC में वाहन के वर्ग / श्रेणी में बदलाव का प्रावधान)

📜 Section 56 का उद्देश्य

Section 56 यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि:

✔️ यदि किसी वाहन की class / category बदलती है (जैसे: private car → commercial, light vehicle → heavy vehicle),
तो RC में updated class/category entry दर्ज की जाए।

उद्देश्य: Vehicle taxation, insurance और law enforcement के लिए सही classification बनाए रखना।

🔶 Section 56 – मुख्य प्रावधान

📌 1. Class / Category Change कब होती है?

• Private → Commercial / Goods / Passenger use में बदलने पर
• Vehicle modification (engine upgrade, seating capacity change) के कारण
• Government directives या transport policy के अनुसार

📌 2. Procedure for Update

• Owner को Registering Authority / RTO में apply करना होगा
• Required documents:
  • Original RC
  • Vehicle modification certificate / invoice
  • Identity proof
  • Applicable fee
• Authority verification के बाद RC में updated class/category दर्ज की जाएगी

📌 3. Legal Effect

• RC में updated class/category binding होगी
• Vehicle taxation, insurance premium, permits, compliance सभी updated class के अनुसार होंगे
• Misuse (wrong category vehicle चलाना) पर penalty

📌 4. Digital / Online Update

• Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019 के बाद:
  • Parivahan portal से online update possible
  • Verification mandatory
  • Transparency और fraud prevention enhanced

• Vehicle classification legal और standardized हो

• Illegal commercial use या overloading पर रोक
