🚗 Section 62 – Cancellation or Surrender of Registration Certificate (RC)

(RC रद्द करना या स्वेच्छा से लौटाने का प्रावधान)

📜 Section 62 का उद्देश्य

Section 62 यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि:

✔️ Vehicle का Registration Certificate (RC) किसी भी कारण से reregister, transferred, scrapped, या decommissioned होने पर cancel या surrender किया जा सके।

उद्देश्य: Road safety, proper vehicle disposal और legal compliance सुनिश्चित करना।

🔶 Section 62 – मुख्य प्रावधान

📌 1. RC कब cancel या surrender होता है?

• Vehicle scrapped / dismantled / destroyed हो गया हो
• Ownership transfer के बाद RC old owner द्वारा surrender किया गया हो
• Vehicle imported / exported / registered interstate होने पर old RC obsolete हो गया हो
• Legal / court order के तहत RC रद्द किया जाना हो

📌 2. आवेदन प्रक्रिया

• Owner को Registering Authority / RTO में apply करना होगा
• Required documents:
  • Original RC
  • Identity proof और Address proof
  • Proof of vehicle disposal / scrapping certificate (if applicable)
  • Applicable fee
• Authority verification के बाद RC cancel / surrendered कर दिया जाएगा

📌 3. Legal Effect

• Cancel / surrendered RC वाला vehicle road पर illegal माना जाएगा
• Traffic fines, insurance, taxation और liability cancel RC के अनुसार invalid होंगे
• New RC जारी होने पर vehicle पुनः legal हो जाएगा

📌 4. Digital / Online Process

• Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019 के बाद:
  • Online RC surrender / cancellation via Parivahan portal possible
  • Verification और record transparency बढ़ी
  • Fraud prevention, duplicate RC tracking
