🚦 Section 17 – International Driving Permit for HMV
(भारी मोटर वाहन के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय ड्राइविंग परमिट)
📜 Section 17 का उद्देश्य
Section 17 यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि:
- Heavy Motor Vehicle (Bus, Truck, Large Commercial Vehicle) चालक अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर वैध रूप से वाहन चला सकें।
- Driving Licence और International Driving Permit (IDP) के माध्यम से विदेश में legal compliance बनी रहे।
- Road safety और treaty obligations (जैसे Vienna Convention on Road Traffic) पूरी हों।
International Driving Permit केवल valid HMV licence holders को ही दिया जाएगा।
🔶 Section 17 – मुख्य प्रावधान
📌 1. Eligibility / पात्रता
- Applicant के पास valid HMV / Transport Vehicle Licence होना चाहिए।
- Applicant Indian citizen होना चाहिए।
- Medical fitness certificate होना आवश्यक (Heavy / Commercial vehicles के लिए)।
📌 2. Application Process
- Application RTO / DTO में किया जाएगा।
- Required documents:
- Valid HMV Licence
- Age proof / Identity proof
- Medical certificate (Heavy vehicles)
- Passport size photograph
- Passport
- Applicable fee
📌 3. Validity of IDP
- सामान्यतः 1 वर्ष या Indian Licence की validity तक वैध।
- केवल वही Vehicle Categories जो Indian Licence में शामिल हैं, चलाने की अनुमति।
🔶 Section 17(2) – Restrictions
- IDP holder केवल अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर वाहन चला सकता है।
- India में HMV Licence ही मान्य।
- Commercial use abroad के लिए अलग नियम लागू।
- Traffic violation abroad होने पर India में भी licence action हो सकता है।
